Our Mini Rangers Holiday Clubs offer a fun and inspiring way for children to connect with nature, explore the zoo and learn about the world around us.

Based in our Conservation Education Hub - a bright, sustainably powered space made for learning and play - children take part in outdoor adventures, games, crafts and stories that help children understand and care about the natural world.

For children in Primary School Years 1 - 3 (ages 5 - 8), these sessions are ideal for those ready to explore, ask questions and take action for wildlife.

Please note that we’re not able to accommodate reception aged children.

Each session is led by our friendly Zoo Rangers, who support, encourage and spark curiosity every step of the way. Whether it's spotting animals on a morning zoo walk or making something wild with leaves and glue, Mini Rangers will return home smiling, inspired and full of wild ideas.

And because it all happens right here at Chester Zoo, every booking helps support our mission to help nature survive and thrive.

What does a typical day look like?

In our jam-packed holiday clubs, no two days are ever quite the same. We explore lots of themes like, beautiful bugs, amazing animals of Africa, big bird watch and poo at the zoo, to name a few. We change up our plans for every holiday club, but here’s what a day at holiday club with our Zoo Rangers might look like:

8:15am – 8:45am: Drop-off at our dedicated Holiday Club space, The Conservation Education Hub, where you’ll meet our team of expert Zoo Rangers

8:45am – 11:00am: A VIP visit to Heart of Africa before zoo opening and meeting our Pangolin Puppet to find out more about how we help pangolins in their natural habitat

11:00am – 12:00pm: Group games like, ‘crocodile, crocodile’ or ‘shark tag’ in the zoo or The Conservation Education Hub

12:00pm – 1:00pm: Lunch and free play with a variety of small world, craft and construction resources

1:00pm – 2:00pm: Another trip to one of our zoo habitats, like Realm of the Red Ape or Spirit of the Jaguar

2:00pm- 3:30pm: During our wildlife-inspired crafts we ‘ll be making anything from collaborative rainforest inspired art to immersive mini habitats.

3:30pm- 4:00pm: Wrap-up games inside the hub and time to share our favourite parts of the day
