Join us on our first ever Rodent Husbandry and Management Workshop in conjunction with BIAZA Mammal Working Group.

Speakers will be joining us from organisations across the world to share best practice in zoos. This one day course is designed for keepers currently working with or looking to develop their rodent husbandry skills.

It will include a range of in and ex situ rodent management projects covering topics such as:

  • Recovery projects
  • Experience management
  • Captive breeding
  • Population monitoring
  • Medical management
  • ZIMS and recording

As well as theory based workshops, we’ll be out and about in the zoo, behind the scenes in our Conservation Breeding Management Area and there’ll be plenty of time for discussion with colleagues working on a range of projects.

Please note: This workshop is aimed at professional keepers or managers who are currently employed in a BIAZA collection, therefore please use your organisational email address when booking.

If you have any queries about the course, please contact p.watson@chesterzoo.org or academy@chesterzoo.org
