Everything you need to know about Keeper for a Day

We’re one of the only zoos in the UK that offers a one-to-one personal keeper day working with an animal section of your choice. You can choose from a range of different animal sections to look after, including some of the world’s most endangered species.

Booking in advance is required as spaces are very limited.

  • Mammal Keeper for a Day experiences - £350
  • Reptile & Aquarium Keeper for a Day experiences - £285
  • Bird Keeper for a day - £285

Bookings and payments must be taken over the phone. The day begins at 8am and finishes at 5pm with tea breaks and lunch included. You’ll also get a signed certificate in a presentation pack and a gift to remember your special day.

  • Participants must be physically fit and able to walk several kilometres around the zoo at pace, able to climb several flights of stairs and walk over uneven ground without difficulty.
  • Suitable for ages 18 and over.
  • Regrettably certain guests will be unable to take part including people with epilepsy; relevant phobias or known allergies; mobility issues; pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals.
  • Whilst every effort is made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this cannot always be achieved.
