Each giant egg has been beautifully decorated to resemble some of our incredible animals at the zoo. From feathery friends to creatures big and small, you’ll discover interesting facts about these species along the way. And you might even spot the real animals nearby and learn more about how we’re helping wildlife survive and thrive.

11:30am Mascot Meet and Greet – Near The Oakfield
See our snow leopard mascot Laya and learn all about how amazing snow leopards are before having the opportunity to have a photo, high five or dance off with Laya.
12pm Discover UK species – Outside June’s Food Court
Play games and learn more about the amazing animals that swim and dive through the waters that surround the UK, including the many sharks species we have, and all about the secret world of the seahorse.
2:20pm The Epic Snail Race – Oakfield Lawn
Come and join our Zoo Rangers to learn about the race to save endangered snails, then get dressed up as your favourite slow creatures and show us how slow you can go.
What's new at the zoo
If it's been a while since your last zoo trip, there's a whole host of new arrivals to see during a spring visit.
Kitawa recently gave birth to a joey, who can now be glimpsed exploring outside of his mum's pouch.
These two young Northeast African cheetahs are key to the survival of their species, with fewer than 500 left in the wild.
This mother and son duo live side-by-side in their purpose-built habitat - seeing such a rare bond up close is an unforgettable experience.
Bheri's birth was a first for our zoo. Now she's growing up fast, and you'll see her leaping around her Himalayan-inspired surroundings.

When the gates close, the fun continues with an adults-only evening events at The Oakfield.
Join us for a strictly adults-only evening at The Oakfield where our zoo Ranger team will guide you through the fascinating (and sometimes surprising!) world of animal reproduction, as the Rangers entertain you with some of the biggest and strangest wonders of the natural world.
Settle in for an evening of great food, themed cocktails and plenty of entertaining, yet tasteful, facts, as you’re wined and dined in the relaxed surroundings of The Oakfield.
To round off the evening, put your knowledge to the test with our themed pub quiz – perfect for a bit of friendly competition.
Expect wildlife trivia, animal brain teasers and plenty of laughs in a truly unique setting, right at the heart of the zoo.
