The Zoo Jobs collection from Chester Zoo is a set of connected learning resources designed to introduce young people to the wide range of careers involved in caring for animals and protecting wildlife. Taken together, the resources explore key zoo roles including zoo keeper, zoo vet, nutritionist, habitat designer, field conservationist, and conservation educator. Each role is presented through real world examples that explain what the job involves, the skills needed, the tools used, and why the role is important for animal welfare and conservation.

Across the collection, learners build an understanding that zoos are not just places to see animals, but centres for science, education, conservation, and global action. The activities encourage problem solving, creativity, communication, and teamwork, while helping pupils see how subjects like science, maths, geography, and design link directly to future careers. The collection supports careers education by showing that many different skills and interests can contribute to protecting wildlife and preventing extinction.
