For a £5 monthly donation you'll get:
- A welcome pack
Every adopter gets a certificate, postcard, car sticker and fact sheet about Komodo dragons. (*Welcome pack varies dependant on Adoption level)
- A soft toy
A cuddly snow leopard toy, perfect to add to a gift this Christmas!
- Regular updates
As well as reading our exclusive quarterly magazine, Our Zoo, you can enjoy three email updates per year about the Komodo dragons at Chester Zoo.
One off adoptions
Alternatively, you can pay a one off fee to adopt a Komodo dragon for 12 months. Our one off adoptions include your chosen name displayed on a 'Thank you' plaque by our Komodo dragon habitat.
‘Thank you’ recognition
Every one off adopter’s name is showcased on a plaque near the Komodo dragons. Our silver, gold and junior adoption packages include admission tickets to visit the zoo and see how your adoption supports the vital work we do!

How your adoption will help Komodo dragons
Komodo dragons are under threat.
Wild populations continue to decline due to major habitat loss and human poaching. With your help, we believe our conservation research can influence the sustainability of endangered species and inspire others to join us in our challenge to protect our planet’s biodiversity.
Together we can help save this ancient species from extinction.
Frequently asked questions
Our monthly adoptions are just £5 per month. To receive your soft toy and welcome pack we do just charge a £4 fee to cover postage, or alternatively you can collect it from our Membership office during opening hours.
One off adoptions start from £45 for a 12 month adoption.
A month before your one off adoption expires, you'll be given the option to renew for another year. At this point you're welcome to change the type of animal you adopt.
