I joined the science team at Chester Zoo in 2016 and hold the position of Laboratory Coordinator.

My primary role is the running of our endocrinology laboratory at Chester Zoo, which supports the management of our extensive animal collection by providing reproductive and other wellbeing hormone data which feed into our husbandry practices at the zoo. The laboratory also provides similar diagnostic testing for institutions all over the world and supports research projects both here in the UK and abroad.

Prior to starting work at Chester Zoo, I completed a B.Sc. in Molecular Biology and worked as a technologist in the pharmaceutical industry. My key interests lie in uncovering novel biomarkers for reproductive success and wellbeing to assist in the husbandry of species here at the zoo and more broadly help in the conservation of species.
