I joined Chester Zoo in 2021 as the Ecologist for the nature recovery corridor. My work focuses mainly on the wildlife around the Zoo estate and also has me out in the wider site working with local nature groups.

I hold a survey licence for great crested newts which allows me to survey the ponds within the zoo estate

I have a strong background in ecology and have spent my last six summers surveying for bats, badgers, amphibians and reptiles (my favourites) and last six winters managing ancient woodlands, removing invasive species and taking way too many pictures of mushrooms!

My GCN licence and previous experience allows me to survey and provide management advice for our on-site habitats around the zoo and can also on hand to provide advice to local groups on how best to manage their ponds and habitats they might have on site to make sure they’re providing the best homes for local wildlife that they can.
