I graduated with a BSc in Animal Conservation Science in 2008 and I knew at this point my passion firmly sat with inspiring and educating people to be involved in conservation and wildlife.  Shortly after graduating I joined the Discovery and Learning Team at Chester Zoo as part of a Lottery funded project encouraging young lone parent families to the zoo. After the project ended I joined Keele University as their Environmental Education Project Officer and for the next 5 years I coordinated the environmental education outreach project covering all aspects of development, delivery, research, volunteer management and community engagement. During my time at Keele I completed my MPhil in Earth Science and Communication, focusing on fostering pro-environmental behaviours through long term engagement with schools.

I returned to the Discovery and Learning team at Chester Zoo in 2016 and spent the next 3 years managing and coordinating the volunteer programme, supporting and training over 150 volunteers.

In March 2019 I took on the role of Learning Manager and support a brilliant team of Education Officers and Zoo Rangers who deliver engaging sessions to connect people with our conservation stories and our animals. My work involves developing and managing learning delivery across the zoo including abroad range of daily activities, public workshops and events, engagement projects and our offer to schools , colleges and universities and to ensure these meet out learning objectives.
