Whether you buy an adoption for yourself or as a gift you’ll be making a vital contribution to help wildlife thrive around the world.

Red pandas are under threat. Wild populations continue to decline due loss of habitat resulting in lack of nesting trees and bamboo for eating, as well as ongoing illegal wildlife trade. With your help, we believe our conservation research can influence the sustainability of endangered species and inspire others to join us in our challenge to protect our planet’s biodiversity.

Together we can help save this adorable species from extinction.

After adopting a red panda you’ll receive a welcome pack from our adoptions team. We’ll also send you updates across the year including exciting animal news and the latest about our vital conservation work.

How does Chester Zoo help red pandas in the wild?

Chester Zoo works with a wide range of people and organisations, across many projects worldwide.

Perhaps the greatest threat to red panda in the wild is the loss and fragmentation of their forest homes. Through our habitat-focused conservation projects, we’ve helped to protect red pandas in the bamboo forests of the Sichuan Mountains, China.

Red panda adoptions provide key funds for these vital efforts and other conservation projects that both support communities and help to prevent extinction globally.
