Together we can all help to save banteng, babirusa, anoa & Sumatran tiger.

Zoos, governments, conservationists and academics from around the world are joining forces to achieve greater impact through Action Indonesia, a global plan to protect four of Indonesia’s most impressive and threatened species.

Come to the Zoo and celebrate the 5th International Action Indonesia Day on Sunday 13 August and join forces with over 60 international organisation working to save these species.

Join the fun and games at the zoo and take action for these amazing Indonesian animals!

10am – 11am: Action Indonesia:
Meet the Rangers at the main entrance (near the Monkey house) to find out all about banteng, babirusa, anoa & Sumatran tiger and what makes them so special at our Action Indonesia artefacts table. Pick up your Action Indonesia collectors cards and colour in your own animal mask!

11.30am Babirusa & anoa talk:
Join our Zoo Ranger and keeper for a talk and Q&A at the babirusa habitat, Islands. Find out all about our babirusa and anoa and how we work with conservationist in Indonesia to protect these amazing animals.

12pm Banteng talk:
Join our Zoo Ranger at the banteng habitat, Islands. Find out all about our banteng herd and why zoo herds are so important to the species’ conservation.

2.30pm – 3.30pm Genetics saving species, Sumba Islands:
Gather your herd and discover the challenges these amazing species face in their wild habitats and the international work to conserve genetic diversity to safeguard their future survival.
