Science at the zoo
Monday 6 March
Science is vital to the conservation work that we do at the zoo. Join this webinar to explore the skills required for a role in conservation science and the amazing work taking place at the zoo from endocrinology to acoustic monitoring and much more. Learn about the science that goes on behind the scenes and how important it is to our mission of preventing extinction.

Conservation education plays a huge role in preventing extinction by sharing important conservation messaging with our visitors in the zoo, in school and online. From school visits to animals talks and digital content creation, we reach audiences through lots of different engagement techniques. We work in the field across the UK and around the world. Join this webinar to explore some of the skills used to monitor and record wildlife and support conservation across the globe. From monitoring native species numbers to tracking movements of wild animals, field skills are vital to preventing extinction.

Caring for the huge variety of animals that call Chester Zoo home is no small task. Studying the behaviour of our animals can support us to give them the best possible care. Our science and keeper teams work closely together to make sure our animals have everything they need including a well-designed habitat and suitable enrichment.
