Born in Moscow and arriving here form Zurich in 2008, Sangay was a very popular animal. For the last six months he had been on medication and, earlier this week, the vets and keeping team gave him a complete health check. Unfortunately, as we suspected, it was discovered that Sangay was suffering from arthritis, which is quite common in a bear of his age. Sangay died peacefully this morning (June 7).
