Getting here by car

Chester Zoo is well connected to the motorway and road network, so we’re pretty easy to find.

PLUS we have lots of free on-site parking.

We really LOVE it when people travel in a sustainable way so if you are lucky to be travelling in an electric car we’ve got 26 x 7kw electric car charging points, each bay has a Type 2 universal socket. Our EV chargepoints are on a balanced system and so, when usage is high, charging speeds may be slower. We charge per kwh, and up to date costs can be found on the Pod Point app. By charging your car at the zoo you’ll be helping us to invest in more charging points in the future and to reach our ambitions of being an even more sustainable zoo.

Use the POD Point Open Charge app to see live availability here >

Our main entrance is just off the A41 / Moston Road. We’re well signposted when you approach Chester, just look out for the brown tourist signs. Once you get onto the A41, stay on that road until you reach a roundabout with signs for Chester Zoo.

Sat navs get confused so please ignore them once you get onto the A41. Please note: Don’t turn down Flag Lane North as it’s a dead end.
