Cheshire Buddies become Conservation Changemakers!
Connect to nature
Go birdwatching
As part of the Chester Zoo and Cheshire Buddies Conservation project we explored local wildlife living in the zoo ground by bird watching and bug hunting. We identified the animals that we found.
We used the Go bird watching I.D and tick sheets
Take action for wildlife
Build a bee-utiful bug hotel!
We took action as a group help wildlife including planting nectar rich flowers to support invertebrates at the Conservation Education Hub at the zoo and making bug hotels to take home and help wildlife in our own gardens.

Some of the group wrote wildlife stories at home and shared them with other team members and zoo staff.
We shared on our social media to share with friends and family the actions we had taken, you can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2506485442863102
We loved the zoo so much, we decided to go to lanterns and have also become zoo members so we can do monthly visits and learn more about nature conservation.
