TAKE ACTION

Trees are environmental engineers meaning they can change the landscape – making them a very important plant. Just one tree can add a huge amount of biodiversity to an area, plus they help fight against climate change!

Trees can provide a multitude of benefits to wildlife. Their bark and leaves can harbour an array of insect life, which in turn can support all sorts of other wildlife that may be feeling peckish. They can also provide shelter to larger animals such as nesting birds or bats roosting in crevices.

Some trees can also be a valuable source of nectar and fruit for other animals. Passing creatures on the ground might also make use of the shade to hide from the sun or hungry predators, and the roots can have many other environmental benefits such as preventing soil erosion.
