Round 4: Using Science and Maths as a way to be Sustainable

Round 4 – Educator Guide

Step 1:

We begin with a science experiment. Which plant requires the most water? Set up an experiment with the plant pots made in Round Three,

Step 2:

Of course analysing data is massive part of becoming more sustainable. Have a look at, “Solar Panel Power”. We need help organising our data!

Step 3:

Now try our decomposition activity. What happens to the waste we dump in landfill?

Children will love this activity in Compost Conundrum! Which items will degrade in a compost bin? Add link here

Before you go…

Just a reminder before you go that if any of your pupils have questions or if you would like to delve a little deeper into the subject

We have created a Love it for Longer Virtual Workshop to complement this programme.  The session delves a little deeper into the topics covered in the Love it for Longer packs and work that is going on at Chester Zoo.  We have designed this interactive session to fit in at any stage of the programme.

We also have our 25 minute Ask Chester Zoo workshops that are perfect to give your pupils the opportunity to ask any questions to us that may arise during the course of your Love it for Longer project.
