GO WILD: A 5 WEEK LEARNING JOURNEY
(to look after wildlife and ourselves)
A programme of work designed for upper KS2 and KS3, bringing together virtual video content with our learning resources to create an educational journey across 5 weeks or to create a 5 day ‘One Wild Week’.
With a focus on UK native species and wellbeing, we have developed a package that is quick and easy for educators to pick up and run; with activities that fit in to many areas of the curriculum (maths, literacy, history, geography, science) but also offer the wellbeing benefits of getting outdoors, getting active and making a difference.
CONSERVATION CURRICULUM TOOLKIT
We’re passionate about conservation and want to inspire as many learners as we can about the importance of preventing extinction of species around the world. We work directly with teachers and schools across the school year whether; that’s going into schools or having schools visit the zoo for a curriculum linked workshop. Having worked with many schools to put conservation topics at the heart of their pupil’s learning, we know and understand the value of having real world issues at the centre of curriculum learning. Our Conservation Curriculum Toolkits help teachers from anywhere do the same!
CPD AND EDUCATOR TRAINING
As well as offering workshops for your learners, we also have educator training and CPD opportunities available for you to book. Whether you’re starting a new conservation project with us or want to learn more about how to support your class with their curriculum learning, we’re here to help.
We have a huge collection of FREE learning resources available to download. Our resources are designed to support educators and learners to learn more about the zoo, conservation and science and cover lots of other subjects and topics. We have resources suitable for all ages, so whether you need an activity for a little learner or a more in depth case study for an older student, we have resources to suit all needs.
CONSERVATION KICKSTARTER – PROJECT IGNITIONS
Would you like to run a conservation project in your own school? Our team of experts will come into your school to introduce staff to our conservation campaigns, demonstrate useful learning resources which will help support your pupils’ learning and provide structured ideas for how teachers across the whole school can make this a cross-curricular project for all year groups.
Working with our partners Ignite Teacher School Alliance, we provide training for teachers to participate in a year long programme to equip them with the tools and skills needed to put conservation at the heart of curriculum learning.
EVENTS AND TRAINING
Find out more about how our Conservation Education and Engagement team can support you and your pupils. Every half term we hold a Twilight Session led by our education experts.
